School Scene
The Mise-en-Scéne shows many things about the character, the textbook he is writing on shows he is a student and the lockers in the background which indicate this is a typical teenager.
The Hooded Hero sits alone which presents him in isolation and shows he is on the verge of doing something unprecedented.
This reminds me of a scene in Kick-Ass (2010) where the main character questions why no one had tried to become a superhero; which in subsequent scenes he reveals his true intentions.
The close up of the Hooded Hero include shots of his backpack and his headphones, he put on his headphones to escape reality.
The headphones serve as a motif throughout the film opening to symbolise the unlikely hero who acts as a counter-type.
In the editing process I used a song to play when the Hooded Hero puts on his headphones, this sound was not only diegetic but incidental as the Hooded Hero was listening to it. This sound allows the audience to get a sense of reality that the Hooded Hero experiences.
I used the Mid Shot to help the audience to feel more sympathetic to the character.
The Match on Action with the backpack (Some subtle jump cutting to speed the scene up) to create a sense of reality.
The hero walks out with his hands in his pockets to suggests he is relaxed and keeping to him self.
This scene contrasts to the action packed fight scene.
